Victim Rights & Protection

Upholding dignity, strict confidentiality, and robust safety measures within a secure framework.

Core Victim Rights

The UNFIVCC operates under international principles that guarantee the fair, respectful, and dignified treatment of all individuals who engage with the Commission. Every victim is entitled to fundamental rights throughout their interaction with our divisions:
  • Right to Dignity: To be treated with respect, empathy, and professional consideration at every stage of the reporting or claims process.
  • Right to Information: To receive clear, timely, and accessible updates regarding available services, procedural rules, and institutional frameworks.
  • Right to Safety: To have personal well-being, physical security, and peace of mind prioritized during active evaluations or investigations.

Confidentiality & Data Security

Protecting sensitive information is a cornerstone of the Victim Assistance Centre’s operational framework. Robust security measures are strictly enforced to safeguard user data against unauthorized access or exposure.
  • Information Privacy: All personal narratives, identity parameters, and financial records are restricted to authorized personnel directly involved in case management.
  • Data Protection: System infrastructures utilize industry-standard encryption protocols and secure databases to maintain absolute data integrity.
  • Secure Communications: Communication channels between the victim and the Centre are closely monitored and managed via protected communication links.

Physical Safety & Protective Measures

When a financial crime involves potential personal threats, intimidation, or safety risks, the Commission collaborates with relevant authorities to advocate for victim protection.
  • Risk Evaluation: Proactive assessment of safety concerns reported by victims during the intake or reporting phase.
  • Agency Coordination: Coordinated communication with local law enforcement or international security entities to report threats or intimidation.
  • Safe Interaction Channels: Provision of anonymous or highly restricted reporting pathways for individuals operating in sensitive or high-risk environments.
